Diathenic Graphologue

In expressing an aesthetic idea, spirit must 'apprehend' (auffasson) the quickly passing play of the imagination and unify it into a concept. This is an 'original' concept that can be communicated without rules while disclosing a new rule." Through spirit, genius is able "...to express the ineffable state of mind implied by a certain representation and to make it universally communicable..."

Rudolf A. Makkareel, "Imagination and Interpretation in Kant – The Hermeneutical Import of the Critique of Judgment"

Diathenic Graphologue is a concept using Greek roots meaning: letting a thing be seen through representation. Diathenic Graphologue can be understood as a form of design communication. The thing which is being represented is a conceptual design, something which exists in the imagination of the designer. The means of representation are many including prose, symbols, visual images and multimedia.
